Welcome to the Digital Artifacts Page

"Not boring" reflections of digital artifacts and their impact on our lives.

Digital Artifact 1: X (Twitter)

At 18 y/o my dad told me I should grow up and become more professional. As a teenager this sounds BORING!!! But I was like "Sure let's download it and see how is it like." I created my profile and started navigating around the app. It was incredibly surprising to scroll around political, entrepreneurial, and worldwide news. Surprising enough to make me delete my account after a week hahaha. The reason why is simple: I don't get entertain. It is a great tool for people involved in professional settings, but for young people it feels dull. X provides great information to be aware of worldwide news, follow trends, and communicate your ideas. However, scrolling around serious topics for a long time feels overwhelming. Our world is growing quicker than ever, but the future looks more scary than bright. Technological advances soften our lives, but make us dependent of their benefits which could impact negatively our development as society. Just imagine having an addiction with X (Twitter) and scroll over thousands of negative news, serious political trends, war rumours, and boring people. Sadly, that is actually our reality.

The "Old Money" Aesthetic Palette

Old money refers to the fashion and aesthetic of affluent families who have been wealthy for generations. It describes a luxury European lifestyle with a color palette formed by neutral and muted colors, especially beige, white, and navy blue. In today's world, aesthetics are a form of electracy that shows the power of visuals to understand the idea behind something. Intuition is key to identify the basis of the trend.

Just picture a 22 years old 6'1" strong brunette man wearing Polo Ralph Lauren and Rolex, driving a white Porsche 911 Carrera GT with a blonde Scandinavian model on the passenger seat on their way to the Monaco's wealthiest casino during golden hours. This image can be associated with the stereotype of a young arrogant adult who will never have to worry about working and loves to spend his daddy's money on champagne in beach clubs, dating a gold digger who just want to post their wealthy lifestyle on Instagram to make her friends jealous.

You could be asking yourself, How can you identify the life of a person just by looking at them? Well, that is the main idea behind the power of aestethics in electracy. We can associate a lifestyle, color palette, or place with things, behaviors, or stereotypes by using our five human senses.

Old money is more than just being wealthy and minimalistic. It is about being sophisticated, classy, refined, and educated. It is about Royalty.
